Kearny Nebraska

After rain most of the way across Indiana and Illinois, and lots of thunder and lightning last evening, we were treated to a nice sunrise this morning.

Then we crossed the Mississippi River and entered Iowa.

The drive across I-80 in Iowa was very enjoyable with nice rolling hills and several large wind farms. When we got to Nebraska, everything flattened out again. Obviously this isn't the part of the state that is famous for pheasant hunting. Huge farms of what appears to be corn, corn and more corn.

We did see some interesting sites and lots of towns that had familiar names - York, Lancaster, Lemoyne - made us feel like we never left PA.

Tonight we are in Kearny Nebraska, sitting at a Cabela's for the night. This is a much smaller store than in Hamburg PA - about 1/4 the size. But the parking lot is very flat, the employees were very friendly, and we are very sleepy.
